San Joaquin Hills

San Joaquin Hills, California: Although the beach is a main attraction for residents in San Joaquin Hills, the community’s location makes it easy to take in all that Southern California has to offer in the way of museums, points of interest, the desert and the mountains. Anaheim Landing, now known as Seal Beach, is listed as a State Historic Landmark. The Landing was the port of entry for the Santa Ana Valley, bringing traders to Orange County’s original settlement in Anaheim. Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm, and Medieval Times are a short drive inland from San Joaquin Hills. The Orange County Fair is held annually in nearby Costa Mesa at the Orange County Fair Grounds.

Other beaches not far from Newport Beach and Corona del Mar include Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Laguna Beach and Dana Point, where shopping, dining, fishing, swimming, sun bathing and shell collecting are popular activities. The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach showcases sea life from the area, and live performances from ballet to Broadway productions to live concerts can be seen at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, Orange Country Performing Arts Center, and South Coast Repertory.

The Bowers Museum in Santa Ana has a variety of exhibits of Plein Air paintings, art pieces by Californian artists, extensive permanent cultural exhibits as well as traveling exhibits. Orange County isn’t short of sports enthusiasts, with many attending hockey and baseball games at the Honda Center in Anaheim and the Anaheim Stadium, home of the world champion Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
